Quickie

Every day this week I was at school at 8am. Well, for a graduate student, that is early. We had homework due today, so we hall had to get that done. School was boring. My kids were good this week. I have a test next week and I have a lot of papers to grade, so I am off. We are having a party next weekend for the organic newbies, so I was cleaning today during the game. Good game. Oh, well, I will not be back until next week. I might post to get away from studying. So, until next week. I have my first test on Saturday, so I will be busy studying all week. BYE!!!

This week is over!!

Wow, I have posted twice in one week. Go me!! Being me, I can not post many times, but here is my weekely update.

Monday: 2 Classes, lab. My Monday lab class turned in their reports and, needless to say, they are horrible. I would normally be nice, but we were instructed by the Organic Lab Coordinator to grade hard and mark all over their papers. Also, he gives us criteria to grade by on the reports, so if the students do not have certain materials in their report we have to take off points. I will start grading them tonight. Oh boy, they will hate me now. And I like my classes. They are good, except for one kid in Thursday lab. See Thursday for more info.
I also had group meeting but it was not as long (only an hour).

Tuesday: Oh yeah, I was sick and only went to school for my one class and went back home.

Wednesday: Danielle fianlly emailed me back. It seemed to me that she was doing great.
Matt finally called Perry and Perry lives in Austin. Did not know that? Matt also ran into Kasey (Brandi's cousin who is Damien's ex). She apparantly moved here with her boyfriend. I then called Nicole to tell her: Nicole I loved your response: "She has a boyfriend?" Yeah, that is what I thought; who would put up with that?

Thursday: The never ending day, along with Mondays. I do not have a break from 11:30-6. Yippee. Lab: my bad student drives me up the wall, back talks, and tries to get out of doing things. Yeah, and what is sad is that he gets very good results for an undergraduate in lab. That sucks for him because I take off points every time he complains. Isn't he lucky?
Anyway, I got home after 7 and watched my Must See TV shows. I'm still addicted to Thursday nights on NBC.

Friday: As my away message says- Two classes, Lunch, Group Meeting, Seminar. Somewhere in that time I have to fit in Studying. I guess that will be accomplished during the week. Now I am here writing so all of you guys know what the heck is going on in my life.

Yeah, and tomorrow...I have CLASS from 9-11. Bummer.

Sorry I am not going to spell check right now because I am tired and now I will try to grade 16 lab reports about Luminol. Au revoir. (I don't care about the Spanish anymore).

Fellowship

I received an email the other day from the CHEM Grad office that was explaining I received a Fellowship for the year. The total is $1750. It was very out of the blue, but if I maintain good grades, then I get the amount every year. Pretty cool.

This week in Lab: Fractional Distillation. Not so so bad. My kids on Thursday were good. Easy.

Got my oodles of problems done for Phys. Org. Just reading and group meetings, and classes this week. Hope it goes by fast.

We have class this week because PROF is back from Prague.

Let's hope that Matt can get a Hibernia job. We have a lot of leads. YAH!!!

Oh boy

How exciting of a game was that??
Come on LSU, I can't expect you to look that crappy ass next week against Arkansas St. And we can't see the game because we live in Texas. I don't even think it is on TV. That sucks ass.

My class are...well...umm...don't have an overall opinion of them yet. My first TA class is the Engineers. They are okay. The Majors class should know more than they do. Everyone asked what a watch glass was and an Erlenmeyer flask. Oh boy!! We have a lot of work to do, especially if they can't remember glassware from Gen Chem Lab. WHEWWWW!!!!

Classes are going great. We are reviewing Mechanisms in Organic Review. In Physical Chem, we are discussing bonding and orbitals. Fun! We do not have class this week because my Prof is in Prague with my old boss (Strongin from LSU) and my new boss (Sessler from UT).

My new boss is cool and has a lot of money so he can support me for the next 5 years. Our bosses pay for our tuition and pay our stipend when we are not TAing. So, hopefully I will only have to TA the required 2 semesters. My new boss works on anti-cancer drugs, among other various projects. I will work on the anti-cancer drug research because I am most interested in that.

I am glad football started this weekend. I watched LSU on TV. The next trip to Baton Rouge will be at Thanksgiving. Sorry, but I have Saturday classes and we don't have a Fall Break here. Plus, I am Grad student so holidays do not apply to us most of the time. We did get off today though because it is a school-wide holiday. School starts back up tomorrow, but I don't have class or TA. I will help my friend with check-in tomorrow in her lab though. She helped me on my first day, so I am returning the favor. Au revoir.
